Ganden Jhangtse

The monks at Ganden Jhangtse in Dharamsala are ‘working monks’, meaning they spend their days praying and doing pujas at the behest of the community.
With their days full, they are not able to attend any of the free classes that many of their peers do during the days.

Built On Respect worked with a local community center and sponsored a special class for the monks in the evenings. They have learned the English alphabet, and are reading and writing now.
