Barely 2 Weeks, And Thank You NYU
I’ve been online more than ever lately, reposting to raise awareness; friends have been helping loads! In the past 3 days we’ve raised almost $300, which is so amazing!
One of the projects I’ve been researching is independent book publishing; I really want to be able to help the Hope Center put out their book project: SOS – Stories of our Students — and given my proclivity for DIY, I’m beginning to think that self-publishing, with all the profits going to the center, is the best route.
Last night was awesome, Heidi White in the Humanities Department at NYU invited me over to speak with a Tibet student interest group. I talked about International volunteering, my experiences, and how very simple, given patience, understanding, creativity (and a sense of humor!) teaching can really be. The group was great, and if you’re reading this, thank you so much!
Michael, from Convoy films, accompanied me. We have been working together to develop a documentary on Built on Respect. Michael’s work is amazing, he recently completed the DVD for the 2008 Black N Blue Bowl. Speaking of, does anyone have connections at the Travel Channel? I think this would make a really cool TV special!
On a personal note, for those of you who know me well, yes, I am already packed! I’ll be on Skype and IM whenever possible — I’ll be 9.5 hours ahead of NY time.
My column for InkedMag.com is coming along really well, and it’s been so cool to get to hear other people’s charitable activities and to be able to share my own.
Please keep telling your friends! This blog will be getting really busy in 2 weeks!
In the meantime, here is a picture of Heidi and I from last night! Thank you!
